When and how did dropsaw form?
Early 06 at the Cambridge hotel over a few beers, good mates all keen to start a new band.
It all went from there.
You guys did a demo then followed that up with missing limbs, your first album on trial and
error. what are the main differences between these releases and your new album, victims or
killers?
The new albums heavier, angrier, darker and more metal. We've had a few line up changes since missing limbs and that's changed the overall sound of the band. We all love the likes of sworn enemy, ringworm, etc and that's the way we want to write music.
The new album seems to have more of a metal influence than missing limbs, do you agree?
Fucking oath it does, ha ha. It's definitely a good thing though.
What kind of things do you like to talk about when writing your lyrics?
Things that fucking piss me off...racism, dead shits, preachers.
And things that rule the world...Steven segal, horror, Stallone, evil.
You guys are all from the Newcastle area originally, theres been some great bands come out
of Newcastle, does this have an influence on your sound do you think?
Definately. Everything Luke Crew's done. Also, the new bands coming through keep me stoked - Crosscheck, Onslaught, Hollow, Laugh or cry.
You guys have been over to Perth once before, any plans to do that again? or perhaps a nz
tour or something of the likes?
Perth's back on in November with our good friends Samsara, never really thought about NZ but there's talk of Japan early next year. That'd be fucking slithering!
The new albums a lot darker, does this reflect on your life at the current time or
something completely different?
My life's currently ruling so it's definitely not that. I think it has a lot to do with the fact I'm realising how shit the state of this world is. I can see there's a lot of good but i guess for every good thing there's something equally as shit just around the corner. Positive, huh?
Favourite bands to play/tour/hang out with?
Ringworm, sworn enemy, 100 demons, municipal waste, slipknot. Would love to hang out with Phil Collins and tell him not to ever get married again.
Any thanks or last words jrock?
Thanks for the memories and when are you gonna have a beer with me Tommy?
